Joana Mallwitz signs exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon
Deutsche Grammophon announces the signing of an exclusive contract with German conductor Joana Mallwitz . At the beginning of the 2023/24 season, she will also take up her new position as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin after serving as General Music Director at the Nuremberg State Theatre for five years.

Magdalena Fuchsberger's new production of Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmelites" will be presented at the Vienna State Opera from May 21. Bertrand de Billy will conduct, Eve-Maud Hubeaux will sing Mère Marie, and Michaela Schuster will sing Madame de Croissy.

KWANGCHUL YOUN performs one of his signature Wagner roles as Landgrave Hermann in “Tannhäuser” on the stage of the Hamburg State Opera. He then sings Gurnemanz in a concert performance of Act 3 of Parsifal at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and König Heinrich in the new production “Lohengrin” at the Opera de Paris.
Peter Kellner makes his debut as Pagageno at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires
PETER KELLNER makes his debut as Pagageno in Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The KOB production was directed by Barrie Kosky and will now be performed at the Teatro Colón for the first time. After successful performances as Papageno at the Vienna State Opera and the Royal Opera House in London, this is his first appearance in this role at the Teatro Colón.

SLAVKA ZAMECNIKOVA can be heard as Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème at the Opéra de Paris from May 2nd, where she makes her house debut.
European Concert: Kirill Petrenko conducts the Berlin Philharmonic in Barcelona
Kirill Petrenko is on a concert tour through Spain with the Berliner Philharmoniker. This year, the European concert on May 1st will be broadcast from the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The program includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Valentin Silvestrov, and Tōru Takemitsu. Further concerts in Madrid and Zaragoza will follow.

ALEXANDER SODDY will step in as Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra at short notice. Soddy has conducted at opera houses throughout Europe, at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, and in Tokyo. He made his Royal Opera House debut in 2022 in the acclaimed productions of Salome and Tannhäuser.
