Biography
Bogdan Talos has been considered one of the most distinguished bass singers of his generation since well before his Met debut in 2025 – a singer who impresses with his refined voice, musical depth, and striking stage presence. He regularly appears as a guest artist at major international opera houses and collaborates with renowned orchestras and conductors.
In the 2026/27 season, Bogdan Talos will perform Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra in London. Further concert engagements will take him to Weimar with Verdi's Messa da Requiem and to the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg with Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. At the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, he will sing Oroveso in a new production of Bellini's Norma , conducted by Enrique Mazzola and directed by Jetske Mijnssen.

Highlights of recent seasons include his debuts at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and at the San Francisco Opera as Colline in Puccini's La Bohème , and his acclaimed Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Opéra national de Paris as well as his role debut as Bluebeard in Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Further important engagements took him to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Lorenzo in a new production of Bellini's I Capuleti ei Montecchi. Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam and as Gremin in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin in a production by Barrie Kosky to the Komische Oper Berlin He also appeared at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Le Roi Soliman. He has appeared in Gounod's La Reine de Saba and as Ferrando in Verdi's Il Trovatore . He made his house debut at the Hamburg State Opera as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro , and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin he sang the role of Oroe in Rossini's Semiramide. Semperoper Dresden His roles included Rodolfo ( La Sonnambula ) and Caronte ( L'Orfeo) . Further guest appearances took him to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and to the Tokyo Opera. Spring Festival.
Bogdan Talos is also in demand internationally as a concert singer. His recent engagements include Verdi's Requiem with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and Liszt's Legend of Saint Elizabeth with the Hungarian National Orchestra at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, in Brussels, and in Budapest. His concert repertoire ranges from Mozart's, Verdi's, and Brahms' Requiems to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
One artistic focus of his work is the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where he appeared in key roles in his field, including Filippo ( Don Carlo ), Daland ( The Flying Dutchman ), Banco ( Macbeth ), Il re ( Aida ), Giorgio ( I Puritani ), Giorgio Talbot ( Maria Stuarda ), Raimondo ( Lucia di Lammermoor ), Alidoro ( La Cenerentola ), Gremin ( Eugene Onegin ), Basilio ( Il barbiere di Siviglia ), Frère Laurent ( Roméo et Juliette ), Leporello ( Don Giovanni ), Figaro ( Le nozze di Figaro ), Sarastro ( The Magic Flute ) and Fasolt ( Das Rheingold ).
Bogdan Talos studied at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and has received numerous international awards since 2010. He made his operatic debut in 2010 as Don Pasquale, followed by his first engagements in Romania and an early debut as Sarastro at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival in Austria. He was a member of the opera studio at the Komische Oper Berlin, where he still returns regularly.
