Biography
Bogdan Talos has been one of the most distinguished bassists of his generation since his MET debut in 2025 – a singer who impresses with his cultivated voice, musical depth, and impressive stage presence.
In the 2025/26 season, he will open the season at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam as Lorenzo in a new production of Bellini's I Capuleti ei Montecchi . This will be followed by engagements at the Komische Oper Berlin as Gremin in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin (directed by Barrie Kosky), as well as at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Le Roi Soliman in Gounod's La Reine de Saba and as Ferrando in Verdi's Il Trovatore .

Bogdan Talos studied at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and has received numerous international awards since 2010. He made his opera debut in 2010 as Don Pasquale, followed by initial engagements in Romania and an early debut as Sarastro at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival in Austria. He was a member of the Opera Studio of the Komische Oper Berlin, to which he still regularly returns.
In the 2024/25 season, he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and at the San Francisco Opera as Colline in Puccini's La Bohème. At the Düsseldorf Opera, he was seen for the first time in the villain roles in Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann. In the concert field, he interpreted Verdi's Requiem with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and was a guest performer with Liszt's Legend of Saint Elizabeth together with the Hungarian National Orchestra in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, in Brussels, and in Budapest.
Recent highlights include his celebrated Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Opéra de Paris, his role debut as Bluebeard in Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle in Düsseldorf, and his house debut as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Hamburg State Opera. At the Deutsche Oper Berlin, he was heard as Oroe in Rossini's Semiramide , at the Semperoper Dresden He has performed as Rodolfo ( La Sonnambula ) and Caronte ( L'Orfeo ), among others. Guest appearances have also taken him to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and to the Tokyo Spring Festival.
An artistic focus of his work is the Deutsche Oper am Rhein , where he was heard in key roles in his field, including Filippo ( Don Carlo ), Daland ( The Flying Dutchman ), Banco ( Macbeth ), Il re ( Aida ), Giorgio ( I Puritani ), Giorgio Talbot ( Maria Stuarda ), Raimondo ( Lucia di Lammermoor ), Alidoro ( La Cenerentola ), Gremin ( Eugene Onegin ), Basilio ( Il barbiere di Siviglia ), Frère Laurent ( Roméo et Juliette ), Leporello ( Don Giovanni ), Figaro ( Le nozze di Figaro ), Sarastro ( The Magic Flute ) and Fasolt ( Das Rheingold ).
In concert, his repertoire ranges from Mozart's, Verdi's and Brahms' Requiems to Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
