Thomas Guggeis
Cleveland Orchestra - Also sprach Zarathustra / La Valse
Brings an intensity which demands that his name be thrown into the bag of potential successors to Franz Welser-Möst. His debut was nothing short of thrilling.

Biography
Thomas Guggeis has emerged as one of the most compelling conductors of his generation. Equally at home in the opera house and the concert hall, he has developed a strong international profile with engagements across Europe and beyond. Guggeis has served as Generalmusikdirektor of Oper Frankfurt and Artistic Director of the Frankfurter Museumsorchester since the 2023/24 season. In Frankfurt’s 2025/26 season, he conducts new productions of Così fan tutte, Boris Godunov, and Turandot, as well as revivals of Peter Grimes and Tristan und Isolde, and a series of Museumskonzerte featuring works by Richard Strauss, Shostakovich, Haydn, Beethoven, and Mahler. He also returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper for Salome and to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden for Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
