Stand-in: Alexander Soddy makes his Philharmonia debut

ALEXANDER SODDY will step in as Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra at short notice. Soddy has conducted at opera houses throughout Europe, at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, and in Tokyo. He made his Royal Opera House debut in 2022 in the acclaimed productions of Salome and Tannhäuser.

Welsh opera legend Sir Bryn Terfel is one of the great Wagnerians of our time. He sings excerpts from two of Wagner's great bass-baritone roles—Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger and Wotan in the Ring Cycle. Our players also take center stage in the orchestral excerpts. Wagner's music is paired with Bruckner's magnificent and multifaceted Symphony No. 6. (Source: Philharmonia )
