Biography

Soprano Slávka Zámečniková is among the most sought-after voices of her generation and convinces with radiant tone and stylistic versatility on the major opera and concert stages of Europe.

In the 2025/26 season she can be heard at the Vienna State Opera as Marie (The Bartered Bride), at the Berlin State Opera as Nanetta (Falstaff), at the Opéra National de Bordeaux in her role debut as Violetta (La Traviata), as well as at La Scala in Milan as Micaëla (Carmen). Concert engagements will take her, among others, to the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig under Franz Welser-Möst.

Among the highlights of the 2024/25 season were her role debut as Gilda at the Opéra de Paris, as well as appearances as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Vienna State Opera. As Ilia (Idomeneo) she appeared both at the Theater an der Wien and at the Berlin State Opera. With Musetta (La Bohème) she made her house debut at the Semperoper Dresden, and as Daria (Prima la Mamma!) she appeared at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
Important milestones of previous seasons include her role debut as Donna Anna under the baton of Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin State Opera, as well as her interpretation of the title role in Poppea at the state operas in Vienna and Berlin. With Musetta (La Bohème), Slávka Zámečniková made her acclaimed debut at the Opéra de Paris. At the Vienna State Opera she has been celebrated as Donna Anna, Micaëla, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Norina, Nannetta, and Servilia. In San Francisco she appeared as Adina. In Wiesbaden she made her role debut as Contessa in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaroas part of the International May Festival. Further highlights of her career include Nannetta under Zubin Mehta at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden as well as Dircé in Médée at the same house. As Sophie in Werther she returned to the Prague National Theatre.
Concert engagements have taken Slávka Zámečniková to the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Czech Philharmonic, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Hvorostovsky Festival in Krasnoyarsk, as well as with Mozart’s Requiem to the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Festival in Sochi.
The soprano first completed her vocal studies at the Conservatory in Bratislava and received her Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin in the class of Anna Samuil. She has also taken masterclasses with Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Brigitte Fassbaender, Deborah Polaski, Patricia McCaffrey, Francisco Araiza, Neil Shicoff, Thomas Quasthoff, Gregory Lamar, Luciana D’Intino, Júlia Várady and Wolfram Rieger.
