Simone Young conducts the »Turangalîla Symphony« with the Berlin Philharmonic
“Olivier Messiaen’s monumental Turangalîla Symphony is a hymn to joy and love in all its facets. Inspired by the Tristan myth, this is an opulent work full of sensuality, ecstasy, and spirituality. Messiaen creates his magical soundscapes with an extraordinary orchestral apparatus, which includes not only an imposing percussion section but also electronic sounds, as well as a highly virtuosic piano part, which will be interpreted in this concert by Cédric Tiberghien.” Berliner Philharmoniker “They will be conducted by Simone Young , chief conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.” (Source: Berliner Philharmoniker )
