Magnus Vigilius joins ARSIS Artists for General Management

ARSIS Artists Management is delighted to welcome Danish tenor Magnus Vigilius for General Management. Celebrated for his vocal radiance, dramatic intensity, and “aura of heroism”, Vigilius is emerging as one of today’s leading dramatic tenors.
His 2026/27 season opens with a Wagner Gala featuring excerpts from Siegfried and Götterdämmerung with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra under Pietari Inkinen. At the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen, he will then appear as the Groom in a new production of Saariaho’s Innocence. Further highlights include his return to the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos, as well as his return to the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing for Siegfried and a new production of Götterdämmerung. In summer 2027, he will complete the season with yet another engagement as Siegfried in Wagner’s Ring Cycle.
Vigilius’s recent performances have confirmed his growing stature in the Wagnerian repertoire. Following his acclaimed role debut as Rienzi at the Bayreuth Festival, Alain Duault of Opera Online described him as “a true discovery” whose “embodiment of the character is impressive” and whose rare timbre radiates from “youthful lust for conquest” to tragic madness.
After his Siegfried at the Budapest Wagner Days, Scherzo declared: “without a doubt, we are dealing here with one of the great Siegfrieds of our time.” At the Sofia Opera, Online Merker praised his “crystalline clarity,” “raw energy,” and “delicate lyrical moments,” concluding: “The future belongs to him!”
Recent highlights include Siegfried in Brussels, Budapest, Beijing, and Sofia; Parsifal in Budapest and Caracas; Rienzi at the Bayreuth Festival; Walther von Stolzing at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Danish Opera, Budapest Wagner Days, and the “Wagner 22” Festival in Leipzig; and Siegmund at Zurich Opera, the Budapest Wagner Days, Naples, and Helsinki.
His repertoire also includes Lohengrin, Erik, both Boris and Tikhon in Kát’a Kabanová, Albert Gregor in The Makropulos Case, Janik in The Diary of One Who Disappeared, and Doctor Marianus in Mahler’s Eighth Symphony. A recipient of the prestigious Reumert Award for “Singer of the Year” and a prizewinner at the International Lauritz Melchior Vocal Competition, Vigilius studied voice and acting at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
