Conductor Thomas Guggeis replaces ill Daniel Barenboim for the tour of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra

The legendary pianist, conductor, and co-founder of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra (WEDO) has had to withdraw from the European tour planned for months. He will be replaced by conductor Thomas Guggeis, Barenboim's former assistant. Since the 2020/21 season, he has been Staatskapellmeister at the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

Best Opera Recording went to "Akhnaten" at the Metropolitan Opera. The award was accepted by Anthony Roth Costanzo, Zachary James, and Dísella Lárusdóttir. Among the other winners who participated in the recording were producer David Frost, The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, The Metropolitan Opera Chorus, conductor Karen Kamensek , and J'Nai Bridges.
