KHACHATURIAN, TCHAIKOVSKY, & MUSSORGSKY

Emmanuel Tjeknavorian will conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic in his Hollywood Bowl debut on July 30. The program includes Khachaturian's Gayane Suite (in a new arrangement by Tjeknavorian), Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33, and Mussorgsky's most famous work: Pictures at an Exhibition.

This significant US debut marks the culmination of an extraordinary 2025/26 season. At the beginning of the season, Tjeknavorian made his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., where he conducted three solo concertos at the Kennedy Center. Beethoven -programs. Critics praised his masterful conducting, highlighting that he "knows exactly what he is doing," while the orchestra under his direction played with "verve, enthusiasm, and precision." 

During the season, Tjeknavorian also conducted renowned ensembles such as the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI Torino, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra della Toscana, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Graz Philharmonic and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo.

Tjeknavorian also made significant contributions to opera: He made his Italian operatic debut with Verdi's Un ballo in maschera at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. At the beginning of the upcoming season, he will also conduct Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro for the first time at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
