JAAP VAN ZWEDEN - Music Director of the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France from 2025/26

Radio France has appointed Jaap van Zweden as Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. He will take up his position on September 1, 2026, and will commit to the orchestra as Music Director-designate for four weeks in Paris and on tour during the 2025-2026 season.

The year 2024 marks the end of van Zweden's terms as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic (where the 2018/19 season was his first) and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and his debut as Music Director of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra with an initial contract of 5 years.

At the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, he follows in the footsteps of Marek Janowski, Myung-Whun Chung and Mikko Franck, who will step down as conductor of the orchestra in the summer of 2025 after 10 years.
