Easter Festival Baden-Baden: Kirill Petrenko conducts "ELEKTRA" with the Berlin Philharmonic

Berlin Philharmonic and Kirill Petrenko ; new production

Richard Strauss's "Elektra" is the thunderbolt that ushered in modernity while simultaneously popularizing it. Audiences love heroes on the brink of madness! The world collapses upon you, or in this specific case, the Strauss Orchestra. A total of 111 musicians perform magical feats to carry and push the singers: in our case, the legendary Wagnerian voices of Nina Stemme in the title role and MICHAELA SCHUSTER as Klytämnestra , who deliver mother-daughter psychodramas to each other.

The wild duo is complemented and grounded by Elza van den Heever as Elektra's love-seeking sister. The 2023 Festival's "Strauss Dream Team" is back! ( OSTERFESTSPIELE BADEN BADEN )
