Emmanuel Tjeknavorian conducts Un ballo in maschera at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in a new production by Valentina Carrasco, which opens on May 12 as part of the 88th Festival del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Tjeknavorian's artistic direction is undoubtedly celebrated and met with great acclaim: He "breathes music and thereby inspires it" as a "young conductor... clearly destined for greatness." Critics readily admit that "numerous performances... have confirmed [the] talent of the still young Viennese conductor."
Tjeknavorian's 2025/26 season is proving exceptionally successful: As music director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, he is shaping the season with impressive programs and is also a guest conductor with numerous renowned orchestras, including the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra RAI Torino, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Bamberg Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra in
Washington and many other important orchestras. His next opera engagement will take him to his debut at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, where he will conduct Le Nozze di Figaro from September 15 to 23, 2026.
