Philippe Jordan - Return to the Berlin Philharmonic, Anja Kampe as soloist

Philippe Jordan conducts Richard Strauss' Alpine Symphony.

When a storm erupts in an orchestral work, it's a moment of overwhelming energy, followed by relaxation and relief: a reflection of the struggles of a troubled soul. Philippe Jordan, Music Director of the Vienna State Opera, conducts Richard Strauss's Alpine Symphony and excerpts from Wagner's Rheingold , powerful works in which such scenes occur at crucial points. And in Alban Berg's Altenberg-Lieder, expressive energy is also released through the blizzard and thunderstorm. The soloist is Anja Kampe , who enjoys worldwide success primarily as a Wagner interpreter. (Source: Berliner Philharmoniker)

The performance dates are: 21/22/23 January 2022
