Immediately following her role as Marie in Wozzeck at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Anja Kampe will take on the role of Primadonna/Ariadne at the Bavarian State Opera in Robert Carsen's production of Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos, conducted by Robin Ticciati.

Kampe's Ariadne has already been celebrated at the Hamburg State Opera and the Vienna State Opera. OperaWire praised an interpretation of "profound depth" and a voice that was "radiant and powerful." The nmz lauded Kampe's "impressively radiant" performance, while Online Merker spoke of a "highly expressive, deeply felt, and masterful" Ariadne.
