EMMANUEL TJEKNAVORIAN
TEATRO DELL'OPERA DI ROMA
LE NOZZE DI FIGARO

Emmanuel Tjeknavorian takes on the musical direction of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro for the first time in Claus Guth's acclaimed production. The production premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 2006 and is now being performed in Italy for the first time.

For Tjeknavorian, this is his first time conducting opera, and also a further expansion of his artistic work into the operatic repertoire alongside his ongoing work in the symphonic field. Since taking up his post as Music Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano in September 2024, the young conductor made his operatic debut in May 2026, conducting Verdi's Un ballo in maschera at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to great acclaim.

Even before his operatic debut, Tjeknavorian spoke enthusiastically about the opportunity to extend his artistic work to opera. "What the audience needs is passion, passion, passion," he said, perfectly capturing the energy and dedication that characterize his approach to both operatic and symphonic repertoire.
