FLORENTINA SERLES
LUCIENNE IN THE DEAD CITY
30 AUGUST, CLOUD TOWER
ARSIS Artist Management is delighted to welcome mezzo-soprano Florentina Serles to its artist portfolio as general agent. This summer, Serles can be seen on August 30th at the Grafenegg Festival as Lucienne in Korngold's Die tote Stadt, conducted by Axel Kober.
The 23-year-old Austrian mezzo-soprano, born in Vienna, has been a member of the Vienna State Opera's Opera Studio since the 2024/25 season. She made her house debut in 2024 as DU in the children's opera Sagt der Walfisch zum Tunfisch (The Whale Says to the Tuna), a performance praised for its "musical quality and acting ability" (Concerti). Her engagements at the Vienna State Opera in the 2025/26 season include Javotte in Massenet's Manon, Flora Bervoix in Verdi's La traviata, the First Squire in Wagner's Parsifal, and Cenerentola in the NEST project opera production Animated: Cinderella.
Serles is currently studying voice at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Bernd Valentin, where she has already performed roles such as Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring, Hänsel in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, and one of the apprentices in Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Linz State Theatre. Her early musical training included ballet, jazz and show dance, and violin, before she developed her passion for classical singing. In 2023, she won the International Cross Over Competition in the opera category.
