Kirill Petrenko conducts the Berlin Philharmonic on European tour

AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 3, EUROPEAN TOUR
Kirill Petrenko will conduct the Berlin Philharmonic this summer on a major European tour, beginning on August 23 at the Salzburg Festival . The tour will then take the orchestra to the Lucerne and Edinburgh International Festivals before concluding on September 3 with a performance at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall .
The tour presents three programs with a top-class lineup of soloists. The first program combines Elgar's Enigma Variations, Op. 36 , with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36. A second program in Salzburg juxtaposes Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with soloist Leif Ove Andsnes and Scriabin's Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Op. 43, "Le divin poème" . The third program then combines Scriabin's symphony with Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 , with soloist Augustin Hadelich .
Since taking up his post as chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic in 2019, Petrenko's collaboration with the orchestra has developed into a celebrated artistic partnership, characterized by highly acclaimed performances and ambitious projects. In the 2026/27 season, Petrenko will conduct the orchestra together with Jonas Kaufmann at Carnegie Hall, before embarking on a South American tour with pianist Daniil Trifonov, with performances at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Sala São Paulo, and the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá.
