Korean bass Kwangchul Youn takes on one of Giuseppe Verdi's great bass roles at the Vienna State Opera : Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra .

Youn , known for his interpretations of Verdi and Wagner , is regularly praised for his powerful voice and exceptional stage presence . In this production, too, he impresses as a commanding, sonically assured authority in the dramatic action.

Under the musical direction of Marco Armiliato, Peter Stein 's proven production will continue with further performances on April 19, 21 and 24 .
