On June 10, Dutch National Opera unveils a major new production of “Boris Godunov”, directed by Kirill Serebrennikov—his latest collaboration with the company following his acclaimed debut in “Der Freischütz”. 

Serebrennikov brings Mussorgsky’s monumental work into sharp contemporary focus, drawing chilling parallels between the political turmoil of Tsarist Russia and the modern mechanisms of authoritarian power. This new staging promises to be as visually arresting as it is politically urgent.
