“The musical direction of this new production is led by General Music Director Thomas Guggeis, whose Frankfurt engagements in the 2024/25 season also include the revival of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier. After ending her brilliant singing career, Brigitte Fassbaender has directed nearly 100 productions. These include such successful productions at the Frankfurt Opera as Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos and Capriccio, as well as Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Paul Bunyan at the Bockenheimer Depot. There, she was also recently responsible for the world premiere of Vito Žuraj's Blühen. American tenor Ian Koziara is a guest at the Frankfurt Opera in the title role of Parsifal, while his compatriot Jennifer Holloway (Kundry) is also returning to the house on Willy-Brandt-Platz as a guest. Here, both sang Fritz and Grete in Schreker's Der ferne Klang (CD on OehmsClassics) in 2018/19, among other roles, and were also cast again for the first revival of the production in 2022/23. Jennifer Holloway's current engagements include Salome at the Vienna State Opera and Sieglinde in Wagner's Die Walküre at the Bayreuth Festival, while Ian Koziara returned to the Frankfurt Opera in the current season as Filka Morozov in the first revival of Janáček's From the House of the Dead, followed by Froh in Wagner's Das Rheingold at the Bavarian State Opera. Led by Nicholas Brownlee (Amfortas), Alfred Reiter (Titurel), Andreas Bauer Kanabas (Gurnemanz) and Iain MacNeil (Klingsor), almost all parts are cast with (former) members of the ensemble and the opera studio of the Frankfurt Opera.” (Source: Oper Frankfurt)
