Simone Young becomes honorary member of the Vienna State Opera and conducts Peter Grimes

Simone Young begins 2022 with Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes at the Vienna State Opera, with Jonas Kaufmann in the title role.

Since her acclaimed revival of Strauss's Daphne in the 2011/2012 season, she has been a regular guest in Vienna, appearing in both new productions and revivals. Erik van Heyningen , a baritone member of the Vienna State Opera ensemble, sings the role of Hobson under her direction.

Following the performance of Peter Grimes on February 2, 2022, conductor Simone Young will be awarded honorary membership of the Vienna State Opera.
