Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden
On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the Berlin State Opera presents a new production of Jacques Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann in the Great Hall Unter den Linden. Under the musical direction of Bertrand de Billy and in a production by Lydia Steier, a lavish and multifaceted sound and visual theatre experience is created in collaboration with the directing and set design team led by Momme Hinrichs .
The production transports the audience to a captivating world of fantasy and music: The poet Hoffmann experiences three love stories, encountering longing, loss, and the demonic. While Steier stages the events with powerful symbolism, Bertrand de Billy, with the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Staatsoper Chorus, delivers a musical interpretation of great tension and depth.
