KIRILL SEREBRENNIKOV stages The Nose at the Bavarian State Opera

Kirill Serebrennikov was born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, and completed his physics studies there in 1992. During his studies, he began working as a self-taught theater, opera, film, and television director, as well as a costume designer. His first successes outside of Russia included productions at the Stuttgart State Opera (Salome) and the Komische Oper Berlin (Il Barbiere di Seviglia). This was followed by productions at the Vienna Festival (Lulu), the Zurich Opera (Così fan tutte), the Hamburg State Opera (Nabucco) , and most recently at the Vienna State Opera (Parsifal). In addition to opera, he also directs plays and ballets ( Nureyev at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow) and works as a film director. The Nose is his debut at the Bavarian State Opera. (more)
