Eun Sun Kim makes her debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago with Puccini's Tosca

In North America, Kim recently enjoyed success at the San Francisco Opera, LA Opera, Washington National Opera, and Houston Grand Opera. Her debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic was soon followed by debut engagements with the Oregon Symphony and Seattle Symphony, and her triumphant return to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Now she makes her Lyric Opera of Chicago debut in Puccini's Tosca. (Source: Lyric Opera of Chicago)

Kim emphasizes the immediate, fleeting nature of music-making, which requires looking at familiar scores with fresh eyes. "History is one thing, but making music is really always for now, for us, for the moment. Music is a transient art. I'm aware of our history, but when I focus on the score, I'm only focused on how I can do it better today." (Source: WFMT)

Performance dates: March 12, 15, 18, 23, 26 and April 3, 7, 10, 2022
