Elektra in San Francisco: Eun Sun Kim conducts Strauss's masterpiece with Elza van den Heever and Michaela Schuster
The San Francisco Opera is currently staging Richard Strauss's Elektra in Keith Warner's highly acclaimed production. The production, which transposes the ancient tragedy to the atmosphere of a modern museum, has been hailed by the press as "extraordinary" and "breathtaking."
At the podium is music director Eun Sun Kim , who conducts Strauss's expressionist masterpiece with its massive orchestra. The leading roles are sung by Elza van den Heever as Chrysothemis and Michaela Schuster as... Klytämnestra to experience.
The performances will take place on June 7, 11, 14, 19, 23 and 27, 2026 at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco.
