Bertrand de Billy conducts Dialogues des Carmélites at the Metropolitan Opera in New York

Bertrand de Billy conducts John Dexter's striking and timeless production of Poulenc's harrowing tragedy Dialogues des Carmelites. Soprano Ailyn Pérez plays the young woman at the center of the harrowing, quasi-historical story of a Carmelite order martyred in Paris during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. The remarkable cast also includes soprano Sabine Devieilhe in her Met debut as Blanche's fellow novice Constance; soprano Christine Goerke as the unflappable Madame Lidoine; mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton as Mère Marie; and mezzo-soprano Alice Coote in her role debut as Madame de Croissy (source: https://www.metopera.org/season/2022-23-season/dialogues-des-carmelites/).
