Jaap van Zweden conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France on an Asian tour beginning on May 15 in Nanjing. The program includes Debussy's works. Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune and La Mer, as well as Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini and Ravel's La Valse.
The first half of the tour in China and Taiwan presents pianist Alexandre Kantorow in performances at the Shanghai Symphony Hall, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the National Theatre and Concert Hall in Taipei and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts in Kaohsiung.
From May 27th, the orchestra will travel on to Japan, where pianist Mao Fujita will join them for concerts at Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater in Nagoya and Kyoto Concert Hall.
