Anja Kampe and Wolfgang Koch are designing the anniversary Parsifal in Budapest
30 JUNE, BUDAPEST WAGNER DAYS More
This year's Budapest Wagner Days present two ARSIS artists in a semi-staged performance of Parsifal on June 30: Wolfgang Koch as Amfortas and Anja Kampe as Kundry. The performance will take place in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall of the Müpa Budapest.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Budapest Wagner Days, the production follows in the footsteps of the very first edition of the festival, which also opened with Parsifal.
Kampe's recent interpretation of Kundry at the Bavarian State Opera was celebrated for her "complete mastery of the vocal range required for this extroverted and complex role." Koch's Wagner interpretations have also been widely praised – in particular, his "eloquent phrasing" and his "especially convincing stage presence" have received great acclaim.
