Biography
Austrian mezzo-soprano Florentina Serles, born in Vienna in 2003, received her initial artistic training in dance and violin before beginning her vocal studies with Kammersängerin Annely Peebo in 2018. She studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Bernd Valentin and Barbara Bonney and is currently studying with Laura Aikin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. While still a student, she sang roles such as Nancy (Albert Herring), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), and one of the apprentices in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Linz State Theatre.

Between 2024 and 2026, Florentina Serles was a member of the Vienna State Opera's Opera Studio, where she sang Flora Bervoix (La traviata), Javotte (Manon), and the First Squire (Parsifal). At NEST, the Vienna State Opera's new venue for young audiences, her roles included You in The Whale Says to the Tuna , Angelina in a children's version of Rossini's La Cenerentola , and the Cardinaless in Musietiere! She has worked with conductors such as Axel Kober, Giampaolo Bisanti, Bertrand de Billy, Markus Poschner, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, and Dmitri Jurowski.
Most recently, she sang the role of Lucienne in Die tote Stadt at Grafenegg. Further engagements took her to the Aussee Baroque Days, the Berndorf City Theatre, and Walpersdorf Castle, where she performed, among other roles, as Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) .
In 2023, she won the International Crossover Competition in Baden in the opera category. Alongside her operatic work, she also performs in concert and has recently appeared in Vivaldi's Gloria and performed song repertoire at the Musikverein Graz and the Mahler Hall of the Vienna State Opera.
