Biography

Boaz Daniel regularly appears under renowned conductors in opera houses and concert halls around the world. Following his successful role debut as Rheingold-Alberich at Calgary Opera, he was also engaged for this role at the Staatstheater Meiningen for its new production of Rheingold in 25/26.

  • Among the important engagements of the past seasons are Pizarro ( Fidelio ) at the Teatro Sao Carlos Lisbon, his role debut as Rheingold - Alberich at the Calgary Opera, his role debut as Orest ( Elektra ) with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Kurwenal ( Tristan und Isolde ) under Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin State Opera as well as at the Semperoper Dresden , the Opéra de Paris, the San Francisco Opera, in Budapest, Buenos Aires, Perth and with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as well as the BBC Proms and the Spanish National Orchestra, Gunther ( Götterdämmerung ) also at the Berlin State Opera and at the Opera de Oviedo, Heerrufer ( Lohengrin ) at Covent Garden London, his Escamillo debut ( Carmen) in Tokyo, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Semperoper Dresden , Enrico ( Lucia di Lammermoor ) and Amfortas/Klingsor ( Parsifal ) at the Cologne Opera, Don Pizarro ( Fidelio ) under Zubin Mehta in Israel, his debut at La Scala in Zimmermann's Die Soldaten , Klingsor at the Liceu Barcelona, Posa ( Don Carlo ) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera Munich and in Tel Aviv, Ford ( Falstaff) and Don Carlo ( Ernani ) at the Lyric Opera Chicago, Renato ( Ballo in Maschera ) at the Oper Frankfurt , Enrico ( Lucia di Lammermoor ) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, concert performances of La Bohème with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra in Munich under Bertrand de Billy alongside Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon (released as CD and DVD), the title role in Don Giovanni as well as his role debuts as Michele in Puccini's Mantel as well as Franz in Verdi's The Robbers and as Rigoletto at the Vienna Volksoper . 

    Significant concert engagements have led the artist to the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin with Schönberg's Jakobsleiter, to the Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen with Schönberg's Gurre Lieder under Ingo Metzmacher and to the Munich Philharmonic with Mahler's Symphony No. 8 and under the direction of Kirill Petrenko in Bregenz.

    The Tel Aviv-born baritone graduated from the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv in 1996 and completed a second degree at the Vienna Conservatory. Since 1998 he has had close ties to the Vienna State Opera and can be heard in a wide repertoire at this house, including, in addition to those already mentioned, Falstaff (Ford), Tristan und Isolde (Kurwenal), Lohengrin (Heerrufer), Parsifal (Klingsor) , Hänsel und Gretel (Peter Besenbinder), Ariadne auf Naxos (Musiklehrer), Madama Butterfly (Sharpless), Manon Lescaut (Lescaut), Le Nozze di Figaro (Graf), L'Elisir d'Amore (Belcore), Puritani , Simone Boccanegra (Paolo), La Bohème (Marcello), Carmen , Lucia di Lammermoor , Die Fledermaus , La Juive , Pique Dame , Faust , Don Carlo, Götterdämmerung (Gunther), Parsifal (Klingsor), Un ballo in maschera (Renato).
